Hainault Bulldogs 62 South London Storm 10
South London Storm sent a weakened side to the Kennel on Sunday and they paid the price as they were given a second half mauling by the Bullodgs.
It meant that the Bulldogs were not given the test they needed though they did learn a lot from their first half display in which they conceded way too many penalties. They had started like an express train with tries from Graham Bailey,Xander Ross and Aussie fullback Paul Jabbour befor the storm could muster up a reply. But despite further tries from Ross and Peter Jabbour the visitors were still in the game at 26 - 10 at the break.
Bulldogs coach Kevin Reith told them a few home truths at half time and after the break it was a very different story as the Storm were taken apart.Aussie scrum half Richard Griffiths making his debut twice kicked over and collected to score 2 very well taken tries whilst centre Jimmy
Tabrum scored his second try in as many games before debutant second row Luke Bredin who had joined the Bulldogs earlier in the week from Kent Ravens burst through the defence to set up skipper Ray Luggeri for a well deserved try. David North scored a try in the corner to take the Bulldogs way out in front at 52 - 10 but the try of the game came next when winger Jack
Bryan collected the ball from the kick off and broke the defence and raced clear of all the storm defenders to score a great full lengther in his first ever game of rugby league.
The afternoon was rounded off with an impressive score from winger Adam Duffy to make the final score 62 - 10 to the Bulldogs.
Coach Reith wasn't very happy with the 1st half performance as he thought Storm should have been put to bed by half time but the penalty count was way too high and kept them in the game.
The 2nd half was a completely different story and the level of commitment and effort that was shown right up to the final whistle was immense and is a great platform to work off in the weeks to come.
Bulldogs next game is on Thurs 1st May v Southgate Skolars at "The Kennel" kicking off at 19.15pm.
